Statement
I feel a deep connection to the ancient practice of using drawing to try to make sense of the human experience. For me, this exploration is intrinsically tied to earthly awareness. Going "into the woods" for imagery is a process that engages me in a physical, psychological and metaphorical manner. I am interested in ephemeral witness and the worth of things too often unnoticed. Being that light can cast shapes and experiences into blinding brightness, I look to the shadows to reveal form and meaning. These drawings are visual essays, the nexus where observation and discovery can lead to universal verities.
